I am committed to this very task. I hope to encourage many others to dedicate their lives to this work for the reasons mentioned in this message. I would also say that the Lausanne Conference on world evangelism has been calling for such further research since its inception in the 70's. Sadly, in many countries where persecution and suffering persists, the prevailing thinking about theologians is similar to the sentiment expressed by the Caribbean evangelist in the article. Originally from the third-world, I have heard countless times from senior preachers who equated theologians with "Pharisees" and as those who "have form of godliness but denying its power".

So, the challenge to raise up godly and insightful theologians with "full hearts and full minds" among the Persecuted Church will be challenging. But those of us who believe that the presence of such servants of the Lord with biblical, careful and rigorous research and understand pertaining to persecution, suffering, religous liberty and human rights issues from God's persepective will be required to redouble our efforts. Good theology is good! Good theologians are badly needed by the whole Body of Christ.

Thanks for the enlightening blog.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
