Toronto Star publishes excellent article on the arrest of Chinese Christian bookseller
By all accounts, Shi Weihan was a model Chinese citizen.
A kind-hearted man with a sense of social responsibility, he donated funds to send poor kids to school, raised money for those suffering from congenital heart disease, and when the Sichuan earthquake hit, worked tirelessly for the emergency relief effort.
But Shi had a fatal flaw.
He printed Bibles – and gave them out for free.
The Toronto Star printed an excellent story today on the recent sentencing of Christian bookseller, Shi Weihan and the struggle he has had as he seeks to give away Bibles in his communist land. Added to this travesty was the fact that Chinese authorities stripped his lawyer of his credentials just as the trial was reaching its critical stage. Read the rest of this article and then please write to the Chinese authorities protesting this action and urging the release of Shi Weihan.
