Sending cards this Christmas?

Do you send out Christmas cards? Although it can be hard to find the time in the busyness of the season, I try to send out a few to those people that I am only able to see once or twice a year but think about often.

It is also so nice to receive Christmas cards! Sure, emails are convenient, but there is nothing quite like receiving a handwritten card. It means a lot to know that someone thought of you and took the time to drop you a note in the mail.

Last night as I was scribbling down a few more names to my Christmas card list, I thought about the prisoners of faith who will be celebrating Christmas in jail this year. For them, the season won't be filled with fellowship, food, and gifts like it is for many of us. Some will celebrate silently, without even a fellow Christian inmate to share in the joy of Jesus' birth.

If you are writing Christmas cards this year, consider sending some along to your extended Christian family members who are suffering for their faith. Or perhaps you can get together with family members, friends, or a Bible/prayer group to write a few cards. Even the smallest notes can bring hope and encouragement!
